Good to see you're filling your boots with teen spirit! Why is that you choose GMTV over BBC Breakfast News, or listening to the radio? Try BBC Radio 4s Today programme for something meatier. Where did you find the Dragons' Den clip? On You Tube or an official website?
Haha, nothing can beat a good bit of 90's teen rock!
With GMTV I come down stairs with it on - my mum is to blame - and have breakfast with it on as background noise whilst trying to scoff porridge down. I must adimt I do like the slightly more informal approach of telling the news. I tend to watch it for it's clock (I catch a bus) and also a light but thorough update of the news and weather - it is also not as depressing or drone-like as BBC Breakfast even though they do have their laughs it seems too formal and doesn't put you in a cheery mood.
The Dragon's Den Clip I watched in Business Studies on ClickView. Thank you for the suggestions!
Try telling your mum to listen to BBC Radio 4s Today programme.
You'll know all about national and international affairs in 15 minutes. Suitably sombre tone that I find doesn't grate in the morning. Today is the most influential news programme in broadcasting, which raises an interesting observation, that it's a radio show, rather than a TV programme, that holds the most clout. Perhaps because radio is about ideas and dialogue, rather than the colour of your tie or the style of your hair?
Give it a go - I think you'll like it, once you get used to the different tone.
